The Fleet Study Group was formed in 1975 and in November 2010 celebrated its 100th meeting. To mark this occasion a number of events were organised:
A seminar on ‘Chesil Beach: Past, Present and Future’ held at Melbury House
A public meeting on ‘Chesil Bank and the Fleet’ held in the Willowbed Hall, Chickerell, on the 15th November 2010 consisting of a poster display and presentations by members
A poster exhibition on ‘Chesil Bank and the Fleet’ held in the Mulberry Gallery of Weymouth Library during the week 22-27th November 2010.
The actual 100th meeting of the Fleet Study Group was a closed meeting for members only and was held at the Moonfleet Hotel.
